Kashmir: 5 injured in grenade attack

At least five civilians were injured as a grenade was hurled by militants on an army picket at Kupwara district of Jammu & Kashmir on Tuesday.

A picket of the Rashtriya Rifles were attacked by unidentified militants near a bus stand at Kupwara. The grenade blasted near the picket and injured five civilians.

The injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital.

No militant group has claimed responsibility of the attack so far.

In another incident, a hand grenade was found near a poultry farm at Trehgam in Kupwara.

Bomb Disposal Squad of Kupwara Police diffused the grenade without causing any harm, Jammu & Kashmir police site mentioned.
