KEC International bags Rs 340 cr order

Mumbai, Jan 18 (IBNS) KEC International Ltd. (KEC), a global infrastructure EPC major, has secured an order worth Rs 340 crore for the construction of 765 kV & 400 kV transmission lines in Maharashtra and Gujarat.

The order is secured from Bhopal Dhule Transmission Company Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sterlite Technologies Ltd.

The project consists of 765 kV single circuit transmission line from Aurangabad to Dhule (188.5 kms.), 765 kV single circuit transmission line from Dhule to Vadodara (264 kms.) and 400 kV double circuit transmission line from Dhule to Dhule (16 kms.).

These lines are part of Build-Own-Operate-Maintain (BOOM) project awarded by Power Finance Corporation (PFC) to Sterlite Technologies Ltd. for transmission system strengthening in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat.

''There are increasing number of projects being set up on the BOO/BOOM basis and the Company would continue to explore possibilities of securing EPC portion of those projects," said Ramesh Chandak, MD & CEO, of the Company.
