Social activist turned politician Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday approached the Election Commission (EC) for its registration.
AAP National Secretary Pankaj Gupta, who submitted papers to the Election Commission, said the registration process is likely to take around two to three months´ time.
Speaking to reporters, Gupta said: "Our meeting was brief. We've submitted our documents."
"The registration process will take around two-three months' time," he said.
Kejriwal formally launched his AAP at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Nov 26.
The name of the party was announced on Nov 24.
