Kannur, Kerala, Nov 3 (IBNS): Creating trouble for the Congress, a party Member of Parliament (MP) from Kerala was caught on camera threatening a sub-inspector of Valapattanam police station in Kannur, media reports said on Saturday.
Congress MP K Sudhakaran also tried to force the release of a man who was arrested for his alleged role in a sand smuggling case.
Sudhakaran and his party workers on Wednesday protested outside the police station and demanded the release of Azhikode block Youth Congress president K Ragesh.
Sudhakaran reportedly asked the the sub-inspector of the police station that who he was to beat Ragesh.
He warned the sub-inspector that he would be out of his service in ´no time´.
"Are you a filmstar?... You will be out of service in no time," Sudhakaran shouted at the sub-inspector.
According to reports, Ragesh had earlier went to the police station and demanded the release of a truck that was confiscated for alleged sand smuggling.
The Congress MP was later taken into custody and was booked on charges of obstructing the functioning of police officials and also threatening the sub-inspector.
