Srinagar, Oct 8 (IBNS) After a gunbattle that lasted 15 days, the Indian Army on Tuesday declared their operation over against alleged Pakistani infiltrators along the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector in the Kashmir Valley.

The Army also released aerial pictures of the terrorists killed in the encounter.

"We have recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition from Keran sector," Brigadier Gerneral Staff Colonel Sanjay Mitra told reporters.

The Indian Army battled against 30-40 militants who had infiltrated in the Keran sector, which is located about 100 km from Srinagar.

"It is nothing like that (Kargil), it was an infiltration by 30 to 40 terrorists. They have been stopped," Army Chief Bikram Singh told reporters on Friday.

The Army Chief had assured that no village has been occupied by the terrorists and some of them were also mutilated by the Indian troopers.
