Khafa familiarised us with Mumbai’s layout: Kasab

Mumbai: Mohammed Amir Ajmal alias Kasab, the terrorist captured during the November 26-29 terror attacks in Mumbai, has revealed during interrogation that LeT leader Khafa familiarised them with Mumbai, the place of siege.

Mumbai Crime Branch sources said Khafa is one of the top-level leaders of the Lashar-e-Toiba (LeT) and is close to its chief of operations Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, key planner of the Mumbai attacks.

According to the sources, Khafa during a series of laptop presentations to the 10 terrorists, explained the layout of Mumbai, entry and exit points and the topography of the siege points — Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Nariman House, Taj hotel and Oberoi-Trident hotel.

Hafiz Saeed, founder and chief of LeT, indoctrinated them and motivated them for the attacks.

On the other hand, Mumbai Police sources said that Abu Hamza, who was one of the main conspirators and attackers at Indian Institute of Science at Bangalore couple of years ago, gave them advanced training on handling different rifles of Kalashnikov series, making bombs and using grenades.
