New Delhi, July 22 (IBNS) India's ace rifle shooter Gagan Narang has been recommended for the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, the highest sporting award of the country.
The selection committee also recommended Indian cricketer Zaheer Khan and badminton player Jwala Gutta for the Arjuna Award.
Narang won four gold medals in the 2010 Commonwealth Games and won a silver in the men´s 10m air rifle singles event at the Asian Games in 2010.
The names will be sent to the Sports Ministry for a final approval. The awards will be presented on August 29, celebrated as National Sports Day that coincides with the birth anniversary of hockey legend Dhyanchand.
