Kolkata college hosts seminar on Vivekananda in Ganges

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Vivekananda College, Thakurpukur near Kolkata on Sunday organized a University Grants Commission-sponsored national seminar on Indian monk Swami Vivekananda for the first time on Ganges, to mark his 150th birth anniversary.

The seminar was inaugurated by the Principal of Vivekananda College, Thakurpukur Tapan Kumar Poddar.

"For the entire day we discussed on Swamiji. We traveled from Bagbazar to Belur math and that made the event special. Students participated in different cultural activities throughout the day," said Dr. Arnab Kumar Banerjee, Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Vivekananda College.

Present on the occasion were Dr. Debashis Sengupta, Dr. Siddhartha Guha Ray, Dr. Manindra Nath Pandit, Professor Nabakishor Chanda, Dr. Aravind Pan.
