Kolkata gets quick service restaurant

City based eatery Shiraz Hotels Pvt Ltd on Thursday launched its quick service restaurant chain, 'Lazeez' offering Mughlai and Awadhi cuisines here.

Run primarily by third generation entrepreneurs of the group, this chain will serve food that is uniform in taste and quality across all outlets.

"We already have Shiraz. Now we are introducing Lazeez, a new brand," said Shiraz director Ishtiaque Ahmed.

He said: "We already have two restaurants in Kolkata. Before Durga Puja we are planning 4 to 5 more outlets in Kolkata."

"Shiraz is a full format restaurant, but here we are doing the whole thing in a small format."

"We are making a central kitchen and we are planning to serve from there. Within 3 to 4 years we are planning 150 to 160 Lazeez outlets all over India. Delhi, Pune, Hydrabad, Bombay and Thane are the places we are planning to reach," Ahmed said.

"In Bangalore we already have 6 Lazeez outlets," he added.

The city´s first Lazeez restaurant is situated at Rashbehari Connector and will remain open from 12:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

A meal for two people will cost Rs 500 plus taxes.
