Digital major Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd Friday launched its first Samsung Premium Brand Store here.
The store was inaugurated by actress Rituparna Sengupta.
The 1410 sq.ft store showcases the entire range of Samsung smartphones, tablets, notebooks, cameras, and accessories in the form of table display to enable multiple demos at the same time, along with special training area for customers.
"The Premium Brand store is the third in the country and clearly our objective is to grow the market and in creating experience towards smartphones, tablets, smart-cameras and upgrade our customer´s information," said Vice President of Samsung Mobile Asim Warsi.
"We are more than doubling year on year, both volume and revenue wise. We are presently 47-48% of the smartphone market and target to reach around 60% of the market, volume wise by early 2013," he said.
In an era of smartphones, the company has 1/4th of the total contribution from smartphones and the segment is growing around 20-25% for the same, while the industry growth of smartphone is 70% of the market, with 18 million units of overall smartphone market in India, informed official.
The company has an overall share of 40% (including feature phones and smartphones) of the value market phones, having 30% share of the market a year ago and acquiring a growth of 15% this year, apprised Warsi.
"As a brand we´ll manufacture all end phones and our range starts from Rs.1,000 to Rs.40,000, with our presence in 71 countries and 205 offices," said Warsi.
"We are already there in Ahmedabad and Delhi with our Premium Brand stores and plan to open 20 stores during the next year," he added.
Samsung also operates more than 450 Smartphone cafes across the country, besides having a strong presence in the multi-brand retail outlets in the country.
