Kolkata, Nov 15 (IANS) With Korean group Be−Being belting out contemporary music from the east Asian nation, the fourth Kolkata International Music Festival (KIMF) began in the city Thursday.

Artistes from Singapore and Iran are also set to enthral music lovers at the two−day festival being held at Gyan Manch and the Rabindranath Tagore Centre of the Indian Council for Cultural Research.

"We have been organising the fest for the last three years to highlight the power of collective creativity. Be it jazz, folk, soul or world music, you will find it here," said Kaushik Dutta, CEO of Song of Soul, the organising body of KIMF.

The audience will witness entrancing musical acts by Iran's Roozbeh Azar Trio and the renowned jazz vocalist from Singapore Rani Singam Friday.

"We aim to bring flavours of the world to Kolkata and India. You will find a variety of talent," said Dutta, who also doubles as the art director and CEO of the KIMF.

The hitherto four−day fest has been cut short by two days as a tribute to its advisor, the late author Sunil Gangopadhyay.

"He was closely associated with KIMF. This year's fest is dedicated to him," said Dutta.
