Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) defeated Delhi Daredevils by 18 runs in the first qualifier match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) at Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium to reach the final of the tournament here on Tuesday.
KKR qualified for the final of IPL for the first time.
Chasing 163 runs to win, Delhi scored 144 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs.
M Jayawardene remained the top scorer for the side with his 40 runs.
S Narine and J Kallis picked up two wickets each in the match for KKR.
Earlier, KKR scored 162 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs.
Y Pathan remained the top scorer for the side with his 40 runs. He hit three boundaries and two sixes in his 21-delivery innings and remained not out till the end.
L Shukla remained not out till the end and scored 24 runs 11 deliveries. He hit three boundaries and a six in the innings.
B McCullum (31), G Gambhir (32), J Kallis (30) added some crucial scores with the willow.
