Kolkata tastes classical flavour of music

Kolkata, July 18 (IBNS) Kolkata got a taste of traditional classical music on Sunday at the "Monsoon Carnival" through delightful performances of aspiring and reputed artists.

The music concert organised jointly by Kaishiki Arts and Research Centre and Uttarpara Sangeet Chakra, aided the next generation of classical vocalists and musicians through a platform that is both elevating and dignified.

According to the Joint Secretary of Kaishiki Arts and Research Centre Kishore Sarkar, budding talents were provided with much needed inspiration and impetus through the concert.



"We want to promote new faces and give them a platform where they can perform along with known and reputed experts of classical music", he remarked.

Performances from singers Partha Bose, Shilpi Pal and Darshana Dutta received hearty applauses from the audience.

Reputed musician Kunal Saha mesmerized the audience by playing santoor while famed choreographer and dancer Mom Ganguly presented a dance routine and both of them received prolonged ovation from everyone present.

While commenting on the event, renowned Kathak dancer Bandana Sen said, "This will remain as a joy filled memory of a joy filled evening."
