Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Saturday directed the state electricity board to appoint senior officials at Sabarimala to ensure uninterrupted power supply in view of the commencement of two month-long pilgrimage season from today.
A division bench comprising justices Thothathil B Radhakrishnan and C T Ravikumar issued the order in this regard in the wake of yesterday's power failure at Sabarimala where the Lord Ayyappa shrine is located.
The bench said frequent power failure will affect pilgrims and the manufacturing unit making 'aravana prasadam' (a delicacy).
The court directed the Kerala State Electricity Board to inform its views to the court on the matter by November 19.
