Leander in final, Mahesh-Sania crash out

Indian Tennis star Leander Paes and his Russian partner Elena Vesnina cruised to the final of the mixed doubles event of Australian Open by defeating Italian duo of Roberta Vinci & Daniele Bracciali, here on Friday.

The Indo-Russian pair defeated their opponents by 5-7, 6-2, 10-7 margin in the semi- final clash.

However, in the other clash of the day, Indian pair of Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhupathi lost their mixed doubles semi-final match against the pair of Bethanie Mattek-Sands of USA and Horia Tecau of Romania in straight sets.

The US-Romanian pair defeated the sixth seeded Indian pair by 3-6, 3-6 margin.

Paes-Vesnina will meet Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Tecau in the final clash for the mixed doubles title.
