LG launches Bottom Freezer refrigerator

New Delhi, July 13 (IBNS) LG Electronics India, a leading consumer durable brand in the country, announced the launch of Bottom Freezer refrigerator from its Frost Free range.

"Most food items are available in the upper part of the refrigerator allowing the consumer to avoid bending and thereby minimising the spinal and back issues, prominent in Indian women. The refrigerator has a water dispenser outside that allows fresh, cold water almost instantaneously without opening the main door. This ensures saving of energy," said a company spokesperson.

Soon Kwon, Managing Director, LG India said, "We look forward to increase the share of frost free range of our refrigerators significantly through this new range and aim at a 35% share in frost free segment."

Speaking on the occasion, Rajeev Jain, Business Head-HA, LG India said, "Indian kitchens tend to use the refrigerator section more than the freezer. Also with increasing knee and back related lifestyle diseases, the bottom freezer design will allow easier access to food."

Jain said, "With the new series, we plan to acquire a market share of over 35% in Refrigerator by end of 2011. We are expecting a growth of more than 30% this year targeting a turnover of over Rs. 4000 crore in the refrigerator segment."

The new product is priced at Rs 42,300 with 315 litre capacity (Refrigerator Capacity: 211ℓ, Freezer Capacity: 104ℓ).
