Goans were sick of the various scams the congress committed. The mining scam, the medium of instruction issue, the escalating fuel prices LPG and the basic needs of life making it difficult for the common man, the wide spread corruption in all government departments, rising crimes, drugs offenders escaping, the corrupt transport department that led to accidents like the calvim bus tragedy, the regional plan that did not take the people into cofidence but was to benefit the builders lobby. I hope that the new government rectifies immediately all these probelms and let us Goans breathe in peace. Please note BJP the Goans have chosen you with trust that you'll will undo the mess that the congress government has put Goa into. May God bless Goa and its wonderful people. Praise God.

Disappointed with the result of the first round of counting of votes cast in the assembly elections in Goa, a Congress contestant said on Tuesday that he was "going home to sleep" and that he would return only if a miracle happens. Speaking to reporters as he was walking away from the counting centre, Congress candidate from the Aldona constituency Dayanand Narvekar said that he would return to the counting centre only if a "miracle" happened. "I am not happy with the results of the first round. I am going home to sleep. I will come back only if there is a miracle," said Narvekar, a former deputy chief minister of Goa. Aldona has been a Congress constituency for nearly three decades now. Narvekar's chief rivals are the Bharatiya Janata Party's Glenn Ticlo and Trinamool Congress'Wilfred de Souza. Glenn Ticlo was leading by 2,373 votes at 10 am.
