New Delhi: Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal on Thursday said the much-talked-about Lokpal Bill might be tabled in the Rajya Sabha during the ongoing Monsoon Session of the Parliament.
He said the bill might be tabled if the parliamentary panel looking into the legislation submits the report before the end of the Monsoon session.
"I have come to know that the select committee could probably give its report on Lokpal Bill by September 3," Bansal told reporters on Thursday.
"If it happens then we will bring the bill," he said.
Bansal made the comments days after social acitivist Anna Hazare and his now disbanded anti-corruption group Team Anna held a fast against corruption and on the passage of the Lokpal Bill in New Delhi.
The Monsoon Session of the Parliament started from August 8 and will continue till September 7.
