Mumbai: Despite mounting pressure forimplementing regular admissions for 11th standard along withonline admissions, Maharashtra Government is firm on havingonline procedure as the only way forward.

"The Government is firm on online admissions and thesystem is ready to ensure smooth admission procedure sanshassles as apprehended by those opposing online admissions,"sources in School Education Department told PTI here.

Scotching speculation from the anti-online admissiongroups that the computer servers may fail as they would notbe able to handle the load of thousands of students applyingsimultaneously, the sources said "equipment was in place toensure smooth online process".

"The Government is going to conduct a mock admissionprocess on Sunday when at least 10,000 students would log onto the website created for the junior college admissions," thesources said.

"The mock admissions would give an idea about thefunctioning of the servers," they added.

Asked about the forms to be filled up by the studentsonline, they said "the entire information about the studentshas already been filled up by the Government on the servers".

"The students seeking admission to junior collegesjust have to enter their exam seat number and remaininginformation would be automatically appear," the sources said.
