Gandhi's blood samples to be auctioned

London: London-based auctioneers Mullock's on Tuesday will auction a huge collection of Mahatma Gandhi's memorabilia that include two microscopic slides containing blood of the Father of the Nation, reports said.

Several items, including a shawl woven by Gandhi, a copy of a will, a pair of worn out sandals and recordings of his speeches, will go under hammer on Tuesday.

The priceless slides are likely to fetch from 10,000 pounds to 15,000 pounds during the auction, reports said.

"The most important historical documents and ephemera sale we have ever staged takes place on May 21st," Mullock's said in a statement.

"Star lots include one of the largest collections of memorabilia relating to Mahatma Gandhi ever to be offered and a version of the Declaration of Irish Independence issued during the 1916 Easter Rising, considered to be the only copy in the world," it said.
