New Delhi, Nov 30 (IBNS) Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) has informed that all the major works at operational metro stations have been completed, except in the case of New Delhi Metro Station and IGI Airport Station on the High Speed Airport Express Link, where only island platforms are operational at present.

At some metro stations, only minor improvement works have been taken up. This was stated by the Minister of State for Urban Development, Saugata Roy in a written reply in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.

He further stated that in the High Speed Airport Express Link, the stations were commissioned with only island platforms, which are sufficient to cater to the initial number of passengers expected on this line.

The side platforms are planned for operation only after the number of passengers have increased sufficiently. Electrical, mechanical and other finishing works in connection with side platforms in the Airport Express Link were started on 23.2.2011 and have already been completed.

All the parking lots of Delhi Metro have been fully developed in accordance with the traffic requirement.
