New Delhi, Feb 16 (IANS) A 28-year-old man was charred to death when a car he was driving caught fire after smashing into a road divider at great speed, trapping him in the vehicle, police said Thursday.
Five others, including two young women, were injured in the Wednesday night accident in south Delhi. While they managed to leap out to safety, the man at the wheels could not. Police identified him as Qasim.
The accident took place on the Rao Tula Ram Marg flyover.
The victims were returning home in Lajpat Nagar after attending a party in Gurgaon. The injured women have not been identified.
The three injured men were Mohammed Idrish, Ahmed Khalid and Sherulla, police said. A police officer said the victims had consumed liquor.
