Anti-apartheid leader Nelson Mandela is 'showing improvement' in his health but remains serious, reports said on Saturday.
The former South African President was admitted to the hospital with a recurrence of lung infection on June 8.
His ex-wife, Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, on Friday said Mandela is showing a "great improvement" in his health compared to a few days ago.
"I´m not a doctor but I can say that from what he was a few days ago there is great improvement, but clinically he is still unwell," she told reporters here.
Meanwhile, US President Barack Obama is in South Africa to meet South African President Jacob Zuma but he said he did not expect to see the former leader, who is critically ill in hospital.
