Anti-apartheid leader Nelson Mandela, who is undergoing treatment for a lung infection, is improving, said South African President Jacob Zuma.
Zuma, accompanied by ANC Treasurer-General Dr Zweli Mkhize, visited former South African President Mandela in hospital in Pretoria on Thursday evening.
"Madiba´s health continues to improve but his condition remains serious. We continue to appeal to people to keep Madiba in their prayers and wish him a speedy recovery," said Zuma.
Mandela was admitted to the hospital on June 8 with a recurrence of lung infection.
Earlier, the 94-year-old Nobel Peace Prize winner was hospitalized on Mar 27 for pneumonia and a recurring lung infection.
