At least two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed and five others were injured during a gun battle with Maoists at Khunti district in Jharkhand on Monday, said police.
The CRPF personnel raided the Porahahatt jungle on Monday morning on the basis of intelligence inputs, the police said.
The gun battle reportedly started after the rebels ambushed the security personnel.
Security forces on Thursday gunned down a top Maoist leader in Jharkhand´s Chatra district.
Ajay Ganju, alias Parasji, was reportedly shot dead during a joint operation by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Jharkhand Police.
Ganju, who was carrying a bounty of Rs. seven lakh on his head, was the regional commander of the CPI (Maoist).
