Maoists shoot at IAF chopper, injure 1

A security personnel was injured when suspected Maoist rebels shot at an Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter in Dantewada, Chhattisgarh.

The chopper was evacuating wounded CRPF troopers from the Maoist stronghold, when it was shot at, early reports said.

The helicopter was forced to land at Timberwara in the Sukma district, a senior official was quoted as saying.

The injured man is an Air Force wireless operator.
