Neck-deep in crime (corruption, rape and related violence), the state is squirming hard to come out clean.
Ironic is the fact that each time a crime occurs in the state, involvement of government employees or people directly or indirectly linked to the Bahujan Samaj Party, is established. Over two dozen government officials - including one superintendent of police as well - had been either suspended or transferred in this month alone for their involvement in different crime incidents. The government had to force its two ministers also to put in their papers as their names were taking rounds in a murder case.
The latest of all is the expulsion of a BSP MLA Shahnawaz Rana from the party. The party chief Mayawati today expelled Rana from the party after his personal security guards were charged with a rape attempt on two girls from Delhi. The case is being investigated by Special Task Force.
Reading out an order issued by the BSP head Mayawati, the Principal Secretary Home, Government of Uttar Pradesh Kunwar Fateh Bahadur said there are strict instructions that Rana should not be invited or be seen in any of the party related events in future.
