MEA defends Dawood kin Miandad's visa

New Delhi, Jan 3 (IBNS) The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has reportedly defended its decision to issue visa to Pakistani cricket personality Javed Miandad who is now a relative of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim after a wedding connected him with the most wanted of India and the prime accused of 1993 Mumbai blasts.

Miandad`s son Junaid is married to Dawood Ibrahim´s daughter Mahrukh.

Miandad would travel to India for the third One Day International (ODI) between India and Pakistan on Jan 6.

According to media reports, Miandad has been given visa as a top Pakistan cricket official and because he is not any prohibited list.

Besides Shive Sena, a senior Congress leader, Jagdambika Pal, has objected to the decision of granting visa to Miandad.

Dawood Ibrahim is wanted in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts that killed many.
