West Bengal Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Chandrima Bhattachayya, inaugurated the two day health fest in the presence of Alok Roy, the chairman of Medica Superspeciality Hospital.
The health fest comprised different stalls from the various departments of the hospital like cardiology, dermatology, nephrology, ophthalmology, orthopedic sciences, pediatric cardiology and many more where expert doctors were present to interact with the visitors.
The carnival also got its colour when percussionist Bickram Ghosh along with his wife Jaya Seal Ghosh came and visited the stalls.
Chandrima Bhattacharya said, "It is very good to see that the private hospitals are coming up with new ideas like this to interact directly with the general public and clarifying their queries. But as of now it is impossible to apply this idea on the government hospitals."
The fest was designed to attract people and clear their wrong conceptions regarding health problems, with skits, quiz, singing and games.
Also the Nursing department put up some skits on hand hygiene, road safety and HIV awareness for the benefit of the visitors.
