Indian army on Thursday apprehended two hardcore militants of Adivasi People's Army (APA) and seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Assam's Baska district along the Bhutan border, officials said.
Acting on a tip-off, the army had launched an operation at the Paharpur area in the district along the Indo-Bhutan border and apprehended the militant duo.
"Troops nabbed the militants from Paharpur area, who was hiding in the area and planned to triggering explosion in Assam," an army official said.
The nabbed militants were identified as Jarkesh Munda and Markus Munda.
The army recovered five rifles, 20 nos hand grenade and explosive in possession of them.
