Minor boy thrashed to death by girlfriend's family

Meerut: A minor boy was battered to death allegedly by the family of his girlfriend when he went to meet her in Sardhana area in the district, police said.

The 15-year-old girl was also injured in the incident and is undergoing treatment in a hospital.

According to police, Rashid, a resident of Khetwan locality, was allegedly thrashed by the girl's family when he went to meet her in her house early this morning. Rashid's relatives soon reached the spot and took him to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

One person has been arrested and a hunt is on to nab the other accused, IG (rural) Sudhir Kumar Singh said.
