Yester-year superstar Mithun Chakraborty and popular director Imtiaz Ali shared their birthdays on Sunday.
While the former turned 66 years, Imtiaz celebrates his 42nd birthday this year.
Mithun made his acting debut with the Mrinal Sen classic ´Mrigayaa´ (1976), and the very first film won him his first National Film Award for Best Actor.
His dancing skills earned him an identity of a dancing star.
He popularised the ´Disco´ themed dance with his role as the street dancer Jimmy in the 1982 Bollywood movie ´Disco Dancer´.
Mithun won three more National Film Awards for his performances in ´Agneepath´ (1990), Bengali film ´Tahader Katha´ (1992) and Hindi film ´Swami Vivekananda´ (1998).
The actor has appeared in about 350 films including Hindi, Bengali, Oriya and Bhojpuri pictures
Besides films, he owns the Monarch Group, which has interests in the hospitality sector and educational sector.
The actor will be seen on the big screen soon as his upcoming film ´Ennemy´ is all set to release on June 21.
Popular director Imtiaz Ali, on the other hand, rose to stardom with his third film as a director- ´Jab We Met´ (2007).
He made his directorial debut with the film ´Socha Na Tha´.
His film ´Love Aaj Kal´ gained much critical success, and was declared a super hit at the box office in 2009.
Imtiaz also tasted critical as well as popular success with his venture ´Rockstar´ in 2011.
The director is at present busy with his upcoming film ´Highway´ starring Alia Bhatt and Randeep Hooda.
