Guwahati, Jan 9 (IBNS) : A moderate intensity earthquake jolted Assam and other parts of the north-eastern region of India on Wednesday morning.
The quake was felt at 7.12 am and it was measured 5.9 on Richter scale.
There are no reports of any casualties and damage of properties in Assam.
The quake was felt in Guwahati, Nalbari, Nagaon, Lakhimpur, Jorhat, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Kamrup, Dhemaji, Sivsagar and other part of the state.
According to the Regional Seismological Centre in Guwahati, the epicenter of the quake at Phek area of Nagaland-Myanmar border.
