Chandigarh: Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari on Saturday hit out at Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi and said he shoots from the hip on every issue.
"The Chief Minister of Gujarat shoots from the hip on every issue," Tewari told media.
He said Modi should clarify the alleged charges of loss of revenue caused to the exchequer due to different instances of "omission, commission and malpractices" done by the Gujarat government.
Tewari said in June this year Congress MPs had represented to the Central Vigilance Commissioner "that there has been a revenue loss of Rs 1 lakh crore to the exchequer" due to "malpractices" by the state government.
He said the senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader should "rebutt the charges" on the issue of revenue loss in case he has the "conviction or gumption".
Tewari said discussion should be made on black money present in Indian economy so that it could be "made transparent".
"I want to ask why we keep talking about such money only in foreign shores and hit it like a political football," Tewari told media.
"We should also talk about black money in our own economy so that it is made transparent," he said
