Bhopal: A 27-year-old woman, who was allegedly beaten up by at least 12 people for resisting rape, has accused that the Madhya Pradesh Police refused to register a case of attempted murder and sexual assault against the assailants.
The woman, whose knee caps were broken in the attack on June 5, has underwent a knee surgery at a hospital in Bhopal.
"When I went to complain at the Taliya police station, they wrote it down, and then asked me to get it typed. When I left to get it typed these goons attacked me and beat me up," the victim told CNN-IBN.
Meanwhile, the police said they have already arrested three accused.
"We had recorded the victim's statement in hospital. She had even given her thumb impression on that. They had initially named four people. Subsequently they named more people, their names have been included and we are searching for them," Bhopal SP Arvind Saxena told the news channel.
