Lucknow, Mar 23 (IBNS) Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav on Saturday criticised his son and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for the inefficiency of the state ministers and went on to praise Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) patriarch LK Advani for being an honest man.

Yadav also slammed the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government for the growing corruption in the country.

"I have been told that ministers in Uttar Pradesh are not working for the state and they are involved in their personal work," Yadav said while addressing a rally here.

Praising Advani, the SP supremo said: "Advaniji called me personally and told me that corruption is rising in Uttar Pradesh. He never tells a lie. I trust him."

He said if Akhilesh Yadav damaged his image then he will not be able to come back to power in the north Indian state.

"In case Akhilesh destroys his image then he will not be able to return to power again," Yadav said.

Attacking the UPA government, Yadav said: "They are responsible for corruption."

Yadav made the comments at a time when the government´s southern ally Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) pulled out of the government in New Delhi this week over its "soft stand" on the atrocities on Sri Lanka´s ethnic Tamils vis-a-vis the US-sponsored resolution at the UNHRC session at Geneva, dealing a body blow to the main constituent Congress party led coalition.

The UPA government has been reduced to a minority after the exit of 18 DMK MPs. The UPA with outside support of SP (22 MPs) and BSP (21 MPs) has 277 members now after the pullout.

The UPA government is now dependent on the SP and Mayawati´s Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
