A Mumbai court on Wednesday slammed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for not making a proper case for the custody of Pune-based stud farm owner Hasan Ali Khan on money laundering charges, and adjourned till tomorrow the hearing on the application of the probe agency.
The Enforcement Directorate had in their application sought the remand of Hasan Ali.
"You have not been able to make any case and you want me to hear you. If you want to do some homework, you can take time," said Principal Sessions Court Judge M L Tahaliyani before adjourning the proceedings.
Earlier, Ali, who was admitted to Mumbai's JJ Hospital after he complained of 'chest pain', said he is a victim of a political conspiracy.
Ali was arrested on Monday night by the Enforcement Directorate in Mumbai under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
He has been summoned by the ED to appear in person for investigations under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act on March 10.
The Income Tax Tribunal had on March 4 issued a showcause notice to Hasan Ali. (ANI)
