Mumbai gangrape accused sent to judicial custody

Four accused in the Mumbai gangrape case on Thursday were remanded in judicial custody till Sept 19 by a magistrate's court in Mumbai.

The court has sent the four accused-Shiraz Rehman Khan, Vijay Jadhav, Kasim Bengali and Salim Ansar-to a 14-day judicial custody.

Their police custody ended on Thursday.

The fifth accused, who claims to be a minor, was sent to juvenile remand home in Dongri on Aug 30.

A photojournalist was gangraped when she entered Shakti Mill on Aug 22 as the assailants held back her colleague by tying him up.
