Kolkata witnessed a musical evening as the soundtrack of upcoming Bengali movie "Nobel Chor" was launched in the city on Monday.
The film has been directed by Suman Ghosh and produced by Ashwani Sharma.
"We have tried to gift the music lovers a different genre of album by mixing folk with modern Bengali numbers," said Suman.
Lyricist Arun Chakraborty, Anindo Bose and Tapas Ray have set the mood of the songs with their distinct blend of words to the compositions of percussionist Bikram Ghosh.
There are total six songs sung by prolific folk singers Sahajmaa, Gautam Das Baul and Sudipto Gain.
Talking about the composition of the songs, Bikram said: "I have truly enjoyed composing music for this film. The melodies I made are in tune with the tradition of folk."
"I hope the listeners will like the variety of the album and enjoy listening to it," he added.
He continued by saying that there is "a constant juxtaposition in the film" that makes it more intelligent.
