An Islamic cleric from Europe advised that women should keep themselves away from certain vegetables and fruits like bananas and cucumber, as their shapes might stimulate 'sexual thoughts' in the eves.
The Islamic cleric said that vegetables like cucumber resembles the shape of male ´sexual organ´, so a third party should cut these vegetables into smaller pieces and then serve it to the women, Egyptian website Bikya Masr.com reported.
He added vegetables like carrot and courgette should be kept away from females.
He said that if the women in a family love to eat these vegetables then the male members should cut them into small pieces and then serve to the eves for consumption.
The comments made by the Islamic cleric have been highly criticised by the Muslim community.
