Muthalik arrested for making inflammatory speech

Mysore: Sri Rama Sene Chief, Pramod Muthalik was arrested in Belgaum for allegedly making an inflammatory speech here on June month. He was arrested on Friday night for allegedly making an inflammatory speech and inciting violence in the city, police said.

Violence sparked off in the city on July 2 over desecration of a madrassa and the communal clashes that followed claimed three lives. Meanwhile, the city police took one Fayaz, a resident of Udayagiri locality, into custody for distributing pamphletswith alleged inflammatory contents.

Muthalik was first arrested by the Belgaum police on January 27 in connection with a case for distributing pamphlets with provocative slogans in Davanagere on January 4. After he was granted bail in the case, a police team from Manglore re-arrested Muthalik on January 28 in connection withthe attack on a pub.
