My experiments with the 'AP diet'

The NEW AP DIET !!

"Eat complex carbohydrates and protein. Control the fat intake, no junk
food, no aerated drinks and drink lots of water to keep yourself hydrated.
Shrenik - please drink as much water as possible and please dont eat fatty
food as it might make you feel lethargic".

I wonder what Aruna, my nutritionist will say to the new AP diet that i have
been surviving for the past few weeks. Ever since I entered Maharashtra, i
have been wolfing down yummy paranthas with heaps of Makkhan (home made
butter) in all sorts of Dhabas. (road side restaurants for truck drivers).
Sometimes I had no choice as they would not have anything but paranthas with
makkhan. The Makkhan they put is sometimes the size of the paranthas itself.

As I entered Haryana, I saw a cool looking Dhaba - it has some red colour
disco lights hung at the entrance and a red coloured board which said Asli
Number One (the real number one). Intrigued by its look, I went in to take a


look at what was really ASLI NUMBER ONE!.

A thin man, wearing a white striped shirt and brown tousers was waiting the
tables. He came upto me and said, Paratha Plain, Aloo Paratha, Aloo paratha
Makkhan Ke saath, and the list went on and on and on. I could not comprehend
half the things he said and so, I said with a bling - Aloo Parantha... ! He
looked at me and said with a big smile - Oh Paaji, "Asli Makkhan ke saath
Khaa leejiye" (Eat it with real butter ! I thought of Aruna and said, Ok.
Before he left, I asked him if he ate paranthas with makkhan every day and
he said haanji, rooj khatey hai. (Yes we eat them everyday)

Aruna, my nutritionist had made a big list of things that i could eat and a
long list of things that i should not eat. My good friend and Director of
Nutritional advisory services, irene has also said similar things. My
trainer Chandra Reddy said - NO FATTY FOOD. My friend, and advisor Fiona
Lindsay said Shrenik please please take care and make sure you dont eat
fatty food.

The waiter brought in a hot aloo parantha with Makkhan. One small detail i
could not miss was the fact that the Makkhan looked like a little mountain
on a parantha ! It has four chillies added to that as well.

I looked at it, saluted Aruna, Irina, Chandra Reddy and Fiona Lindsay and
wolfed the parantha down with the chillies. It was yummy spicy and super
spicy - I drank a tonne of water, dedicated this to all four of them, paid
the bill and left.

I think I should write a new book for all those who want to transform
themselves from Size zero to size 40 - The NEW AP DIET - Eat Aloo Parantha
everyday. I might actually - they are yummy !
