Nagaland Home Minister detained

Nagaland Home Minister Imkong L Imchen was detained after the Assam Rifles personnel recovered Rs 1.10 crore in cash and a cache of arms and ammunition from his vehicle in Wokha district of the state on Monday, reports said.

According to reports, the Assam Rifles personnel searched Imchen´s vehicle when we was going from Kohima town to Koridanga constituency in Mokokchung district of the state.

The Assam Rifles personnel have handed over Imchen, who is Nagaland People´s Front (NPF) candidate from Koridanga constituency, to the police and the district administration.

Imchen is the NPF campaign in-charge of Mokokchung district.

The assembly polls in Meghalaya and Nagaland will take place on Feb 23.

The votes will be counted in the three states on Feb 28.
