Namdhari admits firing, sent to five days police custody

Dismissed Uttarakhand Minorities Commission Chairman and a key witness to the shootout at the Chhattarpur farmhouse on November 17 here, which claimed lives of business man Ponty Chaddha and his brother Hardeep Chaddha , S S Namdhari has confessed that he fired three bullets on Hardeep.

According to the police, Namdhari has been booked on charges of attempt to murder and sent to five days police custody.

A nitrate test conducted on Namdhari proved that he had used his weapon. Namdhari had maintained till now that his security officer had fired at Hardeep.

Namdhari was arrested yesterday from his Bajpur farmhouse in Udham Singh Nagar in Uttarakhand.

Ponty and Hardeep Chaddha were killed during a gun-battle in the capital where Namdhari and his personal security officer (PSO) Sachin Tyagi were also present. But he had gone missing soon after the police lodged an FIR following the incident. (ANI)
