Nashik Flyover to be thrown open tomorrow

Nashik: A four-lane flyover bridge on NH-3 of Mumbai-Agra road will be opened by Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar here tomorrow.

The 6.1 kilometre-long flyover, costing Rs 980 crores, connects Pathardi-Phata and Adgaon Naka.

Its construction began on January 4, 2010.About 172 pillars were required to complete the huge flyover and total 3,500 labourers were engaged to construct it with several underpasses from various routes, said National Highways Authority of India's project director P G Khodskar Sai.

Only four-wheelers, trucks as well as tankers will be allowed to run on this floyover and a notifiction to this effect was issued by Commissioner of Police, Kulwant Kumar Sarangal yesterday, he said.
