NCC cadet hit by bullet at shooting range in Pune

Pune: An NCC cadet was hit by a bullet allegedly fired by his instructor at a shooting range here, police said on Monday.

Parag Ingle of Wadarwadi, an NCC cadet from class VII of Loyola High School, was admitted to the Command Hospital after he was hit by the bullet on Friday.

The incident occurred in the firing range of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Group Headquarters on Senapati Bapat Road here, senior police inspector of Deccan police station Manohar Joshi said, adding his condition was stated to be stable.

"After the incident, NCC officials informed Police Commissioner Gulabrao Pol on Friday night. We are investigating the incident and have registered a complaint against the instructor, Amod Ghanekar, under section 308 (attempt to commit culpabale homicide) of IPC," Joshi said.
