NCP has broadly agreed on power sharing in Maha: Patel

New Delhi: NCP has "broadly agreed" withally Congress on power sharing in Maharashtra and a newgovernment would be in place in the state shortly, partyleader Praful Patel said.

"We have broadly agreed on most of the issues," theNCP General Secretary told reporters last night.

The top NCP leadership held a meeting with party chiefSharad Pawar here last evening which was attended by AjitPawar, Chhagan Bhujbal, R R Patil and Jayant Patil.

Patel, who was present for the meeting, left midwayand held discussions with his Congress interlocutor AhmadPatel.He later drove back to Pawar's residence and briefed NCPleaders about the deliberations.

Patel said that he had conveyed the NCP stand toCongress which is likely to be discussed with Defence MinisterA K Antony, who is also incharge of Congress affairs inMaharashtra.

"I am confident that all the issues with the Congresswould be sorted out," Patel said.

Meanwhile, highly placed sources said that 20ministers each of NCP and Congress are expected to take oathalong with Chief Minister Ashok Chavan and Bhujbal.

The Maharashtra election results were declared onOctober 22 in which the Congress-NCP was voted back to powerfor a third consecutive term.
