NCP says it has 'broadly agreed' on power sharing in Maha

New Delhi: The NCP on Wednesday night  said that it had"broadly agreed" with ally Congress on the power sharing inMaharashtra and a new government would be in place in thestate within two days.

"We have broadly agreed on most of the issues," NCPGeneral Secretary Praful Patel told reporters here.

The top NCP leadership held a meeting with party chiefSharad Pawar here this evening which was attended by AjitPawar, Chhagan Bhujbal, R R Patil and Jayant Patil.

Governor asks Congress, NCP to form ministry without delay

Patel, who was present for the meeting, left midway andheld discussions with his Congress interlocutor Ahmad Patel.

He later drove back to Pawar's residence and briefed NCPleaders about the deliberations.

Praful Patel said that he had conveyed the NCP stand tothe Congress which is likely to be discussed with Defence MinisterA K Antony, who is also in charge of Congress affairs inMaharashtra.

For NCP and Congress, portfolio allocation will be as difficult as seat sharing

"I am confident that all the issues with the Congresswould be sorted out by tomorrow," Praful Patel said.

Meanwhile, highly placed sources said that 20 ministerseach of NCP and Congress are expected to take oath along withChief Minister Ashok Chavan and Deputy Chief Minister ChhaganBhujbal.

The Maharashtra election results were declared on October22 in which the Congress-NCP was voted back to power for athird consecutive term.
