Former South African President Nelson Mandela is steady and improving at a hospital, where he was admitted for a recurring lung infection, said the country's Presidency on Wednesday.
The Presidency said doctors are happy with Mandela´s progress.
"President Nelson Mandela continues to make steady improvement in hospital. His doctors say he continues to respond satisfactorily to treatment and is much better now than he was when he was admitted to hospital on the 27th of March 2013," said a statement issued by the Presidency on Wddnesday.
"He has been visited by family and continues to make steady progress," it said.
Mandela was hospitalized on Mar 27 with lung infection.
Earlier on Dec 8, the 94-year-old anti-apartheid leader and Nobel Peace Prize winner was admitted to a Pretoria hospital.
He was discharged from the hospital on Dec 26.
