Facebook's COO Sheryl Sandberg has described a cultural manifesto released by the video streaming and DVD rental company, Netflix, as the 'most important document ever to come out of the Silicon Valley'.
According to the manifesto, low job security, non accrued holiday leave that is not tracked at all and creativity should be the philosophy all technology companies use moving forward.
The manifesto highlighted that companies must thrive on uncertainty, creativity and trust.
According to the Herald Sun, the document also blamed managers for poor employee behaviour.
Netflix said that it also did not have any policy or tracking when it came to vacation time and said that it gave its employees unlimited holiday leave.
Staff are allowed to decide when they go on holiday and for how long.
The company also replaced its travel expense claim system with a policy called 'Act in Netflix's Best Interest', whatever that means.
According to the report, the document listed judgement, communication, impact, curiosity, innovation, courage, passion, honesty and selflessness as attributes that Netflix valued most. (ANI)
